  We have noticed that a number of entities and individuals have been republishing various indices released by the official website of the Shanghai Shipping Exchange Institute (Prep.) (hereinafter referred to as the Institute) (http://www.sse.net.cn), Chinese Shipping  Website (http://www.chineseshipping.com.cn), and the Shipping Exchange Bulletin without authorization, which has generated substantial adverse impacts on the operation of indices compiled by the Institute. The following statement is hereby issued:

  1. The Institute holds legal intellectual property rights to all indices it publishes. All index-related content, including but not limited to figures, texts, images, graphics, logos, programs, formatting, page styles and layout designs, is protected by applicable Chinese intellectual property laws and regulations. Without prior written authorization from the Institute, no organization, entity or individual may, directly or indirectly, publish or use such content in any form, nor may reproduce, rewrite, excerpt, forward, repost, disseminate, publish or redistribute the content for publication or usage purposes, or deploy it for any other public or commercial applications.

  2. The Institute hereby notifies companies, media outlets, organizations and individuals that have released or used the aforesaid indices and related content without authorization that such conduct constitutes an intellectual property infringement in violation of law. The Institute formally demands that you complete the following actions within three working days upon receipt of this Statement:

  ① Cease infringement: immediately remove all relevant content on your own initiative;

  ② Eliminate adverse impacts: take prompt and effective measures to stop further circulation of infringing content across the Internet and other media channels.

  3. Companies, media outlets, organizations and individuals requiring access to any of our indices are requested to contact our staff promptly (contact details provided below) to negotiate licensing arrangements.

  4. Companies, media outlets, organizations and individuals granted authorization to use the Institute’s indices shall exercise such usage strictly within the scope of the granted license and clearly cite the source of the indices.

  The Institute reserves the right to pursue full legal liabilities against any party in breach of this Statement in accordance with applicable law.
