| Alataw Pass-Kazakhstan April trade volume up 4.9pc to 2.42 million tonnes |
| Jun.08--NORTHWEST China's Alataw Pass checkpoint bordering Kazakhstan posted a year-on-year 4.9 per cent increase in import and export freight volumes in April to 2.42 million tonnes, reports Xinhua. Imports increased 7.7 per cent to 1.96 million tonnes, while exports fell 5.4 per cent to 462,667 tonnes. In this period, the rail checkpoints of Alataw Pass posted a 10.3 per cent increase to 1.41 million tonnes. The imports surged 18.5 per cent increase to 965,327 tonnes while exports dropped four per cent to 445,398 tonnes. The road checkpoints of Alataw Pass posted a 30.4 per cent decrease in export cargo to 17,269 tonnes with a 36.6 per cent month-on-month increase compared to that in March. (Source:shippingazette) |
